Lameness Investigation
At Artemis Equine Vets, lameness investigations are a key focus, led by our highly experienced veterinary surgeon, Kate Granshaw. With extensive expertise in diagnosing a broad range of lameness conditions, from simple issues to complex multi-limb problems, Kate takes a thorough and systematic approach to each case. Investigations begin with a detailed clinical history, followed by a comprehensive physical examination, including palpation and movement assessments both in-hand and under saddle when needed.
Utilising diagnostic tools such as nerve blocks, radiography, ultrasonography, thermography, and gait analysis, Kate works meticulously to identify the root cause of lameness.
When necessary, Artemis Equine Vets collaborates closely with referral centres to access advanced imaging modalities

such as MRI, CT, and nuclear scintigraphy, ensuring your horse receives the most accurate diagnosis and highest standard of care. We also work collaboratively with farriers, physiotherapists, and other equine professionals to provide a multidisciplinary approach aimed at optimising recovery and performance.
This careful and collaborative approach allows Artemis Equine Vets to develop precise, personalised treatment plans designed to restore your horse’s comfort, soundness, and peak athletic potential.
